Merry Christmas Stories by Jeff R. Spalsbury is a collection of 25 short stories that is structured to fit neatly into the 25 days of the Advent season. Seldom have I experienced a collection that offers so much to so many. Readers will meet a disillusioned private eye who has given up on Christmas and on life in general; a boy and his dad whose mission is to bring help to those in need; an old man and woman, still very much in love, who reminisce while sitting by the ocean; a quirky, but friendly ghost; a space alien who has managed to remember and share the true meaning of Christmas with a desolate group of survivors. These are only a few of the charming and complex characters you will encounter in this uplifting collection that will brighten your Christmas season and bring joy throughout the year.
In reading Merry Christmas Stories,I was transported through a kaliedescope of memories, each page bringing to mind persons or situations that felt as real as comfort food. Although the title tends to narrow the target market, I would appreciate receiving it as a gift anytime of the year. Kudos to the author and I hope he has more to offer.
It was great to read! I really enjoyed each story.
Merry Christmas Stories by Jeff R. Spalsbury is a wonderful collection of short Christmas stories that will leave you feeling all warm and fuzzy. They are just perfect for the Christmas season! Some will make you laugh and others will leave a tear in your eye but what they all do best is reflect the magical spirit of Christmas.

There are all kinds of stories so there is something for everyone. There are ghosts, angels, matchmaking, and lots of love within the pages of the book as is the case of the elderly couple sitting by the sea and reminiscing about their past and how they met. There are strangers who give of themselves and find that they get so much more in return from doing good. You know how you read some stories and you just feel shivers...well that's how I felt reading some of these as in the story where a ghost rescues people in need on the highway at Christmas time and this year he finds the perfect woman for his lonely brother.

There are 25 short stories and there were a few that stood out as my favorites. My absolute favorites that I'll share though were Santa's Missing and Santa's Found. Helen arrives in detective Nick Tracer's office with all the money she has in the world - $1.06, and wants to hire him to find Santa Claus. You see her mom is a single mom and they just don't have the money for Christmas but while Helen is ok with not getting anything herself, she is worried for her younger siblings. Now normally Nick spends Christmas on a serious drunk and even after Helen leaves he still intends to do that but he can't get her out of his mind. So he sets about seeing what he can do to bring Christmas to this family. Then to top things off he finally realizes that Santa is going to have to be him so he dresses as Santa and heads over to the house. While Nick is doing a huge good deed by helping this family he is totally unprepared for what happens to him while he's there and to find that out you'll just have to read the book.

The author does a really great job of bringing the Christmas spirit into your heart. This collection is full of wonderful characters and despite some of these stories only being a short few pages they will worm their way into your heart and stay there. If you're one of those people who love to read a few Christmas books over the holidays this would make a great pick. I liked it because I could pick it up and read a story and then put it down if I had to. I also really liked it because it left me feeling good and in the Christmas spirit. It's well worth the read this Christmas!
I don't know about you but nothing gets me in the Christmas Spirit more than some great short stories geared to touch your heart and soul. That's why I can't wait to share this latest treasure I found, Merry Christmas Stories by Jeff R. Spalsbury. Found between the cover of this wonderful book are a collection of 25 short stories just perfect for telling every day until Christmas.

They will make you laugh, smile and just feel great during this magical time of year. They are a collection of different genre's guaranteed to touch your heart in a unique way, and all reflect Christmas love, hope and generosity of the season.

One of my personal favorites is the story of a little girl, Helen, who was told by her mother that Santa has gone missing this year as a way to explain why there wouldn't be any presents under the tree that year for Helen and her two siblings. As a single mother struggling to make ends meet, Linda, is at a loss for how to provide for her kids this Christmas. So when Helen takes her case to Detective Nick Tracer to "find Santa" using all the money she has saved $1.06 and leaves confident that he can find Santa, Nick is at a loss for just what to do. I'll save the ending for you to read once you pick up this book, but safe to say, that you'll fall in love with the Christmas Spirit after reading this one.

There are native American stories, a spin on a Christmas Angel who aids stranded motorists lost in a snow storm, how one busy lady learns the real meaning of Christmas through an unexpected visit from Santa at her office late one night. These are just a sampling of the warmth you are bound to find and I'm reading ours to our family each night as a way to create a lasting impression of what Christmas really means and to leave everyone with happy thoughts on their mind.

I received this book, Merry Christmas Stories by Jeff R. Spalsbury compliments of TLC Book Tours for my honest review and got so much more than a great book to read. It really changed my perception and allowed us to get together as a family and share this great stories. It opened up conversations for us to find ways to help others out this Christmas in bringing these stories to life, right off the pages. Since this is my favorite time of year, I was more than overjoyed to curl up at night and read these wonderful stories and would rate this collection a perfect 5 out of 5 stars.
